Alleged Scattered Spider member Peter Stokes extradited to U.S.
Peter Stokes, a 19-year-old dual U.S.-Estonian citizen, has been extradited from Finland to the United States to face charges related to alleged activity with the Scattered Spider cybercriminal group.
Stokes is accused of participating in attacks that included an $8 million ransom demand against a luxury retailer. Scattered Spider is known for social engineering and SIM-swapping techniques used to gain access to corporate networks and deploy ransomware.
The extradition highlights continued law enforcement pressure on the Scattered Spider ecosystem, which has targeted high-profile organizations across telecommunications, technology, and retail sectors.
