Meta plans “Meta Compute” cloud business to resell AI compute
Bloomberg and TechCrunch reported that Meta is preparing a cloud infrastructure initiative, reportedly dubbed Meta Compute, to sell raw AI compute capacity and hosted models.
The move follows SpaceX/xAI’s similar strategy of leasing excess Colossus data-center capacity.
Meta had committed $182.9 billion to AI infrastructure by the end of Q1 2026. The Ohio data center, described as the size of Manhattan, is expected to come online this year.
