DHS confirms breach of Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN)
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has confirmed it is investigating a security breach affecting the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN), a platform used to share sensitive information with government partners and law enforcement.
According to DHS, unauthorized access occurred between late May and early June 2026 and included the HSIN SharePoint collaboration environment. The department has stated it is working to determine the scope of the incident and notify affected users.
HSIN is a critical information-sharing platform, and any compromise raises concerns about exposure of sensitive operational data and the potential for follow-on targeting of partner organizations.
