Anthropic launches Claude Tag, a persistent AI teammate in Slack

Anthropic launched Claude Tag, a new product that embeds its most advanced AI model directly inside Slack as a persistent, shared teammate. It replaces Anthropic's earlier Claude in Slack integration.

Claude Tag is designed to act as a standing member of a team. In authorized channels, anyone can tag @Claude to assign work, pull data, run analyses, or draft documents. The agent can pursue tasks asynchronously over hours or days, posting progress and results in threads.

Key differentiators include multiplayer context (one shared Claude per channel rather than one per user), learning over time, proactive ambient monitoring, and asynchronous execution.

Anthropic says 65% of its own product team's code is now created by its internal Claude Tag implementation, and it runs internal support and data-insight channels through the same system.
