AI startups hit revenue milestones at record speed
A wave of AI startups is reaching revenue milestones at a pace rarely seen in enterprise software.
Mercor, which supplies domain experts for AI model training, doubled its annualized revenue from $1 billion to $2 billion in roughly four months. The company is now reportedly in talks to raise at a $20 billion valuation.
Anthropic grew its annualized run rate from $30 billion to $47 billion in under two months, driven largely by Claude Code adoption.
Sierra, the enterprise customer-agent platform, reached $100 million ARR in seven quarters and crossed $150 million ARR by early 2026. Glean, the enterprise AI search company, surpassed $300 million ARR in May 2026, tripling from $100 million in about 15 months. Even older companies like Gusto are embedding AI and seeing revenue acceleration.
